Best charity shops in Glasgow

    Charity shops are by far the best way to find the most inexpensive but amazing finds. Charity shops are set up to raise money for a charity. The most common in the UK are British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research, and Oxfam GB, says Barradale. Here are a few of the best ones in Glasgow!

    1. Glad Rags Glasgow

                                                    

        This charity shop located on Pollockshaws Road, right next to Queen’s Park, was featured in Vogue as one of the best bargain finds in the UK! Glad Rags also has regular kilo sales. A kilo sale is when the price of the clothing is determined on the weight, rather than the designer or fabric material. Vogue states this charity shop sells “some of the finest pre-loved wear.”

    2. Shelter

        Shelter is located on Byres Road and was also featured in the Vogue article mentioned above! Vogue describes this gem as a "must-do" to find the best "retro, rare garms". You may even find a piece donated by the BBC costume department!

    3. Barras Market

    

   

        This cute indoor/outdoor market, located at the Barras event centre, is put on every Sunday— make sure to go early in the morning to get the first pick! While there are higher priced stalls, most are low-cost and filled with second-hand real leather or brightly coloured shirts. Be sure to bring cash. I found this 100% real leather, on-trend, motorcycle-style jacket for only £20! While not technically a charity shop, the prices are so low and there are so many hidden gems I couldn't resist throwing in on the list.
