Best Vintage Shops in Glasgow
Today, we will be covering the best vintage shops in Glasgow! A vintage shop differs from a charity in that these storefronts are not specifically designed to raise money. Furthermore, they may purchase their inventory from overseas or from people looking to sell their old clothing. Charity shop items are donated. Thus, the prices may be higher, but you are almost guaranteed to find something amazing every time! Going to a vintage store is a great way to dip your toes into the world of second-hand shopping.
1. The Vintage Scene Glasgow
Aptly named, this shop is located right next to the St. Enoch subway station, making it very convenient to get to. This one was also praised highly by my friend/coworker, so it only felt right to put it first! The Vintage Scene prides itself on stocking all of "your favourite brands", and they are right! There is an endless amount of vintage Carhartt and various sports jerseys.
2. West Vintage
Sporting a bright yellow exterior, this store is impossible to miss. Located on Great Western Road, West Vintage offers the quirkiest collection of funky tops, oversized collegiate jumpers, and classic denim styles. (Tip: Great Western Road has so many vintage stores along, so grab some friends, hop on the subway and have a fashion-filled day). I got a gorgeous pair of brown sunglasses during my most recent visit!
3. R:Evolve
Another fantastic recommendation! R:evolve thrift + gift is located in Cambuslang, just a 30-minute train ride from Glasgow Queen Street station. The store stocks various items from vintage to designer to reworked garments, jewellery, crafts, and homeware. The income generated from the thrift + gift are reinvested to keep the swap shops and clothing bank free for the community.
The R:evolve swap stores are high street stores that operate on a points system. Customers can donate their old clothes and receive up to 20 points. Those points can then be used against any swap items in the boutiques.
Happy shopping!
